Columbus will host the Georgia Republican Party this weekend for its 2008 state convention.
The event is the second time in four years the state party.
"We are honored to have the Georgia Republican Party come to Columbus for the state convention," said Josh McKoon, Muscogee County Republican Party chairman. "I think it speaks to the great grassroots organization we have here to help with planning and organizing that the state has chosen us for the second time in four years as the host city for the convention."
At the convention, Georgia's representatives to the Republican National Committee will be elected as will half of the state's delegation to this year's Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minn.
