The price of gasoline continued its ascent today in Columbus, flowing to another record high.
The average price of regular unleaded hit $3.775 locally, up from $3.749 on Tuesday, according to the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report.
Local prices are 48 cents higher than they were a month ago. They are nearly 87 cents higher than on May 14 a year ago.
Trailing Columbus today is Athens at $3.76 per gallon and Atlanta at $3.75 per gallon, all-time highs for both cities.
The state's lowest average can be found in Augusta at $3.69 per gallon.
Diesel fuel prices also spiked higher today in Columbus to a record $4.40 per gallon.
The U.S. average for regular unleaded gas is a record $3.76 per gallon, AAA reported, while diesel is at a high of $4.42 per gallon.
