Lt. Col. Edward Houston will assume command of the 2nd Battalion, 29th Infantry Regiment from Lt. Col. David W. Chase during a change of command ceremony at 8 a.m. June 2 on York Field.
The Tucker, Ga. native is a 1990 graduate of North Georgia College. He had been serving as the deputy commander of Fort Benning’s 197th Infantry Brigade.
Houston is also a graduate of the Infantry Officers Basic and Advanced Courses and of the Australian Command and Staff College. In addition, he earned a Master’s degree from the University of Canberra, Australia.
Chase, meanwhile, has been assigned to Fort Hood, Texas, where he will serve as the deputy commander for the 3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division.
