Get the kids in the car, and don't forget the fishing poles.
The Parks at Chehaw, 105 Chehaw Park Road, Albany, is hosting its annual Kids' Fishing Derby.
“We are so pleased to host Strollin’ Nolan (Jerry Nolan) as our featured guest at our annual Kids' Fishing Derby,” said Sherrell Byrd, special events coordinator at The Parks at Chehaw. “In addition to being featured on Strollin’ Nolan’s show, kids will also have the opportunity to learn about boating and fishing safety from rangers from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.”
Kids will get a free pizza lunch and there will be giveaways from Fred’s Bait and Tackle.

The Kids' Fishing Derby is 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at the Chehaw catfish pond.
Admission is free and lunch is also free. All kids must have their own poles, bait and tackle. If you don't have equipment, there will be some for sale. No license is required and fishing is for kids only.
If you want to see the parks, it's open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily. Tickets are $2, for ages 13-61, $1 for children 4-12, senior adults 62 and older and military for the park only; $7 for ages 13-61, $5 for children 4-12, senior adults 62 and older and military for the park and zoo.
