A Columbus man was found bruised and bleeding in the street late Thursday night.
Police found 30-year-old John Abbott lying on Meritas Drive at about 10:30 p.m.
According to a police report, there was swelling and bruising on Abbott's head and face and he had some blood on his cheek. He was also unable to speak, but police were able determine who he was from an ID in his back pocket.
Police were unable to determine if his injuries were fatal and Abbott was taken to The Medical Center for treatment.
Police do not know how Abbott was injured or why he was on Meritas Drive. There were no witnesses to the incident and police have no suspects.
