On Saturday, more than 300 Scouts and volunteers will place more than 18,000 flags on graves in the cemetery at the Andersonville National Historic Site in Andersonville, Ga.
Andersonville is the location of Camp Sumter, the largest Confederate prisoner of war camp in the Civil War where nearly 13,000 Union soldiers died.
There will a special program on Sunday beginning at 2 p.m. in which Georgia Congressman Sanford Bishop will play a part.
The speaker is Rear Admiral Patricia Wolfe, the Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, Supply and Ordinance as well as Commander of the Logistics Task Force Pacific.
Andersonville is located 10 miles north of Americus, Ga., just off Highway 49.
