Hundreds of cancer survivors spent time Saturday morning with their loved ones during The Tidwell Cancer Treatment Center's 21st Annual Cancer Survivor's Day Celebration of Life at the Columbus Convention and Trade Center.
They gathered to eat, dance, listen to music and share their stories.
Cecilia Key of Phenix City was diagnosed in July 2007. Today, after a recent six-month checkup and good news she received during it, she was enjoying spending time with husband Doug in front of sea of larger-than-life painted sunflowers.
"Every day is a good day," said Doug Key.
On the other end of the room, Gloria Vaughn-Williams was enjoying a dance with her daughter, Anita Harley Johnson, a cancer survivor who was diagnosed in October 2005. Johnson said today her tumor is stable and she is doing great.
