Another day, another record high for gasoline prices in Columbus.
The average price of regular edged a half-cent higher today to $3.976 per gallon locally, according to the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report and the Oil Price Information Service.
Columbus gas prices are 27 cents per gallon higher than they were a month ago. They are $1.01 per gallon higher than on June 12 a year ago.
Athens, at $4.04 per gallon, and Atlanta, at $4.03 per gallon, has the highest average price in Georgia today.

The state's lowest average can be found in Augusta at $3.95 per gallon.
Diesel fuel prices also spiked higher today in Columbus to nearly $4.77 per gallon, an all-time high.
Nationally, more records were broken.
The U.S. average for regular gas $4.06 per gallon, AAA reported, while diesel topped $4.79 per gallon.
