Four Muscogee County principals were named high performance principals by Gov. Sonny Perdue and state superintendent Kathy Cox.
Veronica Collins, principal at Britt David Elementary, Pauline Talley, principal at Davis Elementary, Melana Cassell, principal at Edgewood Elementary, and Ann Robison, principal at Hannan Elementary were among the 112 principals selected for the honor last week.
The principals were selected based on school improvement data and recommendations from their school system. Each principal must have also been assigned to his or her school for at least three consecutive years.
"These outstanding educators have fostered school environments that are conducive to student achievement," Perdue said in a press release. "As I have often said, it is important to keep score, measure results and then recognize success. These principals have excelled in their efforts, and I am pleased to honor them with the designation of High Performance Principal."
