Would-be robbers broke into a Columbus home Tuesday morning in an attempt to take money, Columbus police said.
Three men entered the 12th Avenue home around 2:25 a.m., said Lt. Lynn Joiner. The men, one armed with a pistol, demanded money and began overturning furniture.
"There were two other people in the house with him," Joiner said of the victim. "Evidently, they did not get anything."
No shots were fired and no one was injured.
The men, dressed in black and wearing masks, left on foot after searching the home, the lieutenant said.
