CSU’s Department of Art will host a lecture by Ithaca, NY.-based photographer and video artist Danielle Mericle at 6 p.m. Sept. 3 in the Illges Gallery at the Corn Center for theVisual Arts on CSU’s RiverPark Campus. The program is free and will be followed by a reception.
“Story Telling” will be on view Sept. 3-Oct. 11 as an exhibition of drawing, painting, video, photography, installation and mixed media by guest artists as well as CSU faculty.
A special public reception for all participating artists will be 5-7 p.m. Oct. 3.
Mericle will talk about two of her recent projects in her hour-long presentation. “Western Stories” is a collection of photographs depicting small town history museums that tend to be operated by seniors and local history buffs and provide a unique view into the ideological framework of American society.
