The Columbus Mystery Theatre, which has had a successful first year presenting dinner theater with a murderous twist, is holding auditions for the 2008-09 season.
If you've ever wanted to try your hand at performing, this kind of show might be a good start, especially if you're good a improv. But, of course, you still have to follow a script.
Auditions for the next two shows, "Dial S for Santa," which is the holiday show (Nov. 21-Jan. 3) and a late winter production (Feb. 13-April 4), will be 2-5 p.m. Sept. 20 in the Chattahoochee Room in the Columbus Marriott Hotel, 800 Front Ave.
"We are looking for bright, energetic and mature individuals with a flair for comedy and the ability to quickly change characters throughout a show and enjoy interacting with a crowd," said producing artistic director Kate Musgrove.
Auditions are by appointment only. All actors must prepare two contrasting comedic monologues no longer than one minute each. They must be prepared to do cold readings and do some improvisational theater games. All actors should bring a headshot and resume.
