The Muscogee County School Board will meet tonight at 6:30 p.m. in the board room of the Bradley Library.
During the meeting, board vice president Philip Schley will give an update on the superintendent search. Former superintendent John Phillips retired Aug. 1 and is now serving as interim superintendent.
The board will also discuss the sale of the old Baker High School.
Place Acquisition, LLC, proposed to buy the property in March, but is having problems obtaining financing. The company is requesting a 120-day extension to the inspection period for the property on Benning Drive.
Never miss a local story.
This is the second extension Place Acquisition has asked for; the board granted the company a 90-day extension of the inspection period in June.
If the 120-day extension is granted, the inspection period will expire on January 13, 2009. If the board votes against it, the contract to buy the property could be terminated.
