A weeklong series of events at the House of Mercy kicked off Saturday afternoon with a parade that began at the House of Mercy and concluded at the Riverwalk.
The parade, part of revival and homecoming week, featured more than twenty vehicles, several small floats, men carrying banners relating to the organization's mission, and two riders on horseback.
Events contine Sunday evening with a homecoming music festival at 7pm featuring the ambassadors of Christ, the Gospel kings, Bobby Ellis and the Country Gospel Band, and the Mighty Zion Trumpets.
The theme of the homecoming week is "Stop the Violence, Save the Children."
The week's festivities conclude Sept. 28 with a candlelight ceremony at 7pm at the House of Mercy.
