A homeless woman told police she was sexually assaulted late Saturday while walking along Third Avenue.
The 29-year-old was heading south in the 2100 block of Third around 11:30 p.m. when a man who called himself "Rick" approached her, Columbus Police Lt. Steve Cox said. He then grabbed her and forced her into some nearby woods, where he assaulted her.
Afterward, the woman called 911 and was taken to The Medical Center.
The suspect is described as a black man, standing 5-foot-7 and weighing 250 pounds. He was wearing dark pants and a light-colored shirt.
