During October, Vitamin Shoppes across the country will be raising money for its Vitamin Angels' Operation 20/20 campaign.
Affecting up to 140 million children every year, vitamin A deficiencies that go untreated can lead to blindness and increased susceptibility to infectious diseases.
Adequate access to vitamin A can prevent mortality caused by infectious diseases such as measles, malaria, diarrhea and respiratory infections.
Visitors to the Whittlesey Boulevard Store will be asked for a donation. Anyone giving $10 or more will receive a special limited edition T-shirt and know they have helped 40 children.
