An armed robbery and an attempt at one occurred at two Macon Road stores early today.
The first happened at 2:20 a.m. when a black man aged 30-40, standing 5-foot-6, weighing 160 pounds and wearing a dark shirt over a white one entered the Money Back Food Store, 3021 Macon Road.
"He did not have a mask and he entered with a revolver," Columbus Police Lt. Steve Cox said.
The gunman threatened the clerk, took money from the store and ran.
The second incident occurred at 3:45 a.m., when a 5-foot-11 medium-built man wearing all black clothing with a stocking over his face entered Taco Bell, 3527 Macon Road.
"He attempted to rob the store with use of a revolver, but the safe was locked," Cox said.
No shots were fired and no one was injured at any of the stores.
