The Dow Jones Industrial average was off more than 400 points after an hour of trading Monday morning, and the pain was being felt in Columbus.
Supplemental insurance company Aflac's stock was down more than 9 percent or $4.75 per share. It was trading at $47.37 per share.
Columbus electronic payment processor TSYS was down about 4 percent or 60 cents, trading at $14.86 per share.
Synovus was down 29 cents or more than 2.5 percent. The Columbus financial services company's stock was trading at $10.28 per share.
