The Valley Partnership's work to bring a Tier 1 Kia supplier to the region has garnered recognition.
The Georgia Economic Development Association awarded the multi-governmental entity the 2008 regional "Deal of the Year" award in the state of Georgia.
GEDA recognized the Valley Partnership's project to bring Daehan Solution to the area. Daehan Solution is a leading manufacturer of interior automotive components. The $35 million capital investment is expected to create up to 300 jobs over the next five years. Its projected annual payroll is more than $10 million.
Daehan Solution's Harris County facility is expected to open in January.
The Valley Partnership is made up of local governments from the counties of Muscogee, Harris, Chattahoochee, Marion, Talbot and Taylor as well as the cities of West Point and Manchester, Ga., and Phenix City, Ala. The group aims to promote and develop commerce, trade, industry and jobs in the Columbus region.
