The man doesn't exactly remember where he was Sunday morning when they shot him in the face.
It was on Plateau Drive, maybe near the driveway that leads to the 49-year-old's mobile home, said Columbus Police Sgt. Matt Blackstock.
What he does remember, and what he told police, is that he was walking down the road at 2:54 a.m. when three men approached him and demanded money. He told them he didn't have any cash.
"One of the individuals pointed a pistol at him and shot him in the face," Blackstock said. "He only received a graze-type wound to his cheek. They didn't get any money."
The man fell to the road, and his attackers ran off. He then picked himself up and walked to his home, where he called 911.
The suspects are described as being between 20-26 years old, standing about 5-foot-6 and wearing dark clothes.
Blackstock said the wound didn't appear life threatening. The man remained at The Medical Center as of Sunday afternoon.
