The 1850 village of Westville begins its annual Fall Festival Oct. 25. It will run through Nov. 8.
The first day opens with a Dutch Oven Cooking Contest. On Nov. 1, Auburn University students will be building a slave cabin and on Nov. 8, Columbus State University will put on a play in the Damascus Church.
Syrup making and cotton ginning will be daily activities in the village as well as woodworking, quilting, open-hearth cooking and, of course, Westville’s famous gingerbread.
The Kiser House restaurant will have its regular menu during the week and be serving specials every Saturday.
Never miss a local story.
Westville is just outside Lumpkin, about 35 miles south of Columbus, off U.S. 27.
It's open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday. Tickets are $10; $8 for seniors, military and college students with proper ID, $4 for children in kindergarten-12th grade.
