The Buffalo Rock distribution operation in Columbus has received the Donald M. Kendall Bottler of the Year award for 2007.
The award, presented recently in New York, is the highest honor bestowed by Purchase, N.Y.-based Pepsi-Cola North America (PNCA). It is named after PepsiCo's former and chairman.
"This is a bottler who is truly among the best of the best every year, and they prove it every day in a tough competitive environment," said Hugh Johnston, president of PCNA.
Birmingham, Ala.-based Buffalo Rock was among four finalists for the award. The others were Pepsi bottling groups in Texas, Arizona and Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Buffalo Rock operates the SunFresh bottling plant on Veterans Parkway in Columbus, as well as a warehouse on Allied Drive. It employs more than 230 locally.
