Columbus-based Carmike Cinemas will present two checks totaling $747,000 to the Children's Miracle Network at The Medical Center today.
The money was raised during Carmike's 2008 national and local fundraising efforts for Children's Miracle Network hospitals across the U.S.
Carmike Vice President Gary Krannacker will present the two checks. Lance Duke, Medical Center president and chief executive officer, will accept the check for local proceeds. Rod Hamson, Children's Miracle Network vice president of sponsor relations, will accept the national check.
Carmike has long supported the Children's Miracle Network, which provides services for children being treated at The Medical Center. Since 1996, the national movie theater operator has raised more than $7 million to support Children's Miracle Network hospitals.
Carmike operates 257 movie houses in 36 states.
