The Muscogee County man charged with 10 counts of sexual exploitation of children is being held under $150,000 bond after his Columbus Recorder's Court hearing this morning.
Gary Wallace Smith, 56, of 4411 First Ave., pleaded not guilty to the charges before Senior Recorder's Court Judge Michael Cielinski. He waived his preliminary hearing, leading Cielinski to set bond at $15,000 for each charge. Smith was then led back into the jail within seconds of first being brought before the judge.
Smith was arrested at his house Monday morning for allegedly possessing what Columbus Police Sgt. Debra Bohannon called "tons" of images of child pornography.
