Nationally renowned speaker and activist Kay Warren will speak at Judson College's "Christian Women's Conference" on Jan. 13.
The event is co-sponsored by the Woman's Missionary Union of the Alabama Baptist Convention.
Warren, married to Rick Warren, founding pastor of Saddleback Church and author of “The Purpose Driven Life," is using her far-reaching influence as a voice for her fellow cancer-survivors and for HIV/AIDS victims worldwide, according to a media release.
Warren launched the HIV/AIDS Initiative at Saddleback Church in 2003 and hosts Saddleback’s annual HIV/AIDS conference called "The Global Summit on AIDS and The Church."
Warren's doctrinal study, “Foundations,” co-authored with Saddleback executive pastor Tom Holladay, won a Gold Medallion Award in 2004. Her first solo work as an author, “Dangerous Surrender,” was released in November 2007.
She has appeared on national television shows including “Good Morning America,” “Nightline,” “FOX & Friends,” “Hannity & Colmes” and “The Live Desk with Martha MacCallum.”
Sessions on Jan. 13 will be at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. with a book-signing at 1 p.m. Copies of "Dangerous Surrender" will be available for purchase.
There is no admission charge.
