So many people told Meritage Cafe and Gallery that they had missed the December champagne and sparkling wine tasting that owner Faye Simmons is doing it again.
The "encore" is 7 p.m. Jan. 27 at Meritage Cafe and Gallery, 1350 13th St.
Seating is limited to 36 people, so reservations are required. Tickets are $49, plus tax and gratuity.
The wines and food pairings are: Paul Chenau's Lady of Spain Cava with Penedès Truffled Popcorn; the Casalnova Prosecco di Valdobbiadene with Parmesan Crisp and Goat Cheese Mousse; the Simonsig Rosé with Proscuitto-Wrapped Pear; the Nicolas Feuillatte Brut Rosé with Tuna Tartar on Cucumber Discs with Wasabi Tobiko; Schramsberg Blanc de Blanc with Deviled Quail Egg Topped with Cavair on Toast; Jacquart Mosaique with a salad of braised fennel and fig; Perrier Jouët Grand Brut with Seared Diver Scallops with shitake, oyster and enoki mushrooms; Moet & Chandon Nectar Impèrial with Pumpkin Maple Crème Caramel and Toad Hollow Risqué with Five Counties Cheese (layers of Derby, Red Leicester, Cheshire, Double Gloucester and Cheddar cheese) with port wine reduction and fresh blueberries
