When temperatures at midday are still below freezing, you don't need a weather forecast to know it's going to be cold tonight.
You don't need a forecast to make you look forward to the weekend, either, but get this: Though the low tonight's to drop near the teens, the high Sunday's expected to be 72 degrees on a bright sunny day.
Both are deviations from the norm. Normally this time of year Columbus has lows in the 30s and highs in the 50s. This winter's erratic temperatures have bounced from freezing to warm and back again.
The National Weather Service office in Peachtree City is predicting a low tonight of 20 degrees, a high Thursday of 49 degrees and a low Thursday night of 25.
Then comes the warm-up: A high of 62 degrees Friday and a low of 32 degrees that night, and a high of 66 degrees Saturday and a low of 40 degrees that night.
That's according to the Weather Service. AccuWeather is predicting a high Saturday of 71 degrees, almost as warm as Sunday.
