The Joseph House Art Gallery, 828 Broadway, is offering one-day, four-hour workshops taught by its artists in March-May.
The first workshop is 12:30-4:30 p.m. March 14, taught by Brenda Stevens. "My Watercolor Crash Course" is a class for beginners. She provides all the supplies and participants will go home with a finished 8-by-10-inch watercolor painting.
On a Friday in April (the date is yet to be determined), Sharon Nelson will teach how to paint outdoors.
Arlaine Morrison will teach a class on watercolor on Yupo (a synthetic paper made of recyled goods), tentatively on March 27.
Helena Meek will teach people who to paint with oil and pastels outdoors on April 30.
A Paintout will be April 30-May 2 for anyone who wants to paint outdoors. A "wet paint" show will follow.
Dick Millman, a retired Auburn University art professor, will teach drawing architecture in soft pencil. Participants will work outdoors. The class is 12:30-4:30 p.m. May 13.
All classes will be limited in size, so reservations are recommended.
The fee is $55 per workshop.
