Driving conditions are extremely dangerous right now in the Chattahoochee Valley, with heavy rainfall and accumulation of several feet on some roads.
First of all, don't drive if you can help it.
Here are some other tips:
• Slow down!• Stay toward the middle lanes because water tends to pool up in outside lanes. • TURN ON YOUR HEADLIGHTS!• Don't closely follow the vehicle in front of you and leave even more distance between you and large trucks and buses.
Never miss a local story.
Driving through water:• If you can't see the ground through moving water on a roadway, then never, ever drive through it.• Stop your car and check the water level before entering a flooded area and check the water level ahead. • Seek a detour.
