The Columbus Consolidated Government Workforce Area 14 Job Training Division has received a federal grant to operate a summer youth employment training component in the lower Chattahoochee Workforce area meaing more jobs for young people.
The summer work program will be for youths between the ages of 15-24. It is for youths in eight Georgia counties Chattahoochee, Clay, Harris, Muscogee, Quitman Randolph, Stewart and Talbot.
Youths in the program will make $6.55 per hour.
Pre-applications will be accepted Saturday from 8 a.m. - noon at the Columbus Career Center, 700 Veterans Parkway.
