Critics of this season of "American Idol" were likely quieted Tuesday, when the 13 finalists boasted some of the strongest first-night performances in "Idol" history.
But they needed to. At the start of Tuesday's show, which had a Michael Jackson theme, judges said two contestants would be eliminated Wednesday.
Then, at the show's end, judge Simon Cowell said we're in for another twist Wednesday -- something he said involves the judges.
With the show's format up in the air, Jasmine Murray and Jorge Nunez seem to be in the most danger, based on Tuesday's performances.
Never miss a local story.
Meanwhile, Adam Lambert and Danny Gokey stand at the top of the pack.
