The annual Deimel Legacy Ball, which benefits St. Anne Pacelli and Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic schools, is 7 p.m. March 28 at the Columbus Convention & Trade Center, 801 Front Ave.
The speakers are Vince and Barbara Dooley. Vince Dooley is the retired athletic director at the University of Georgia, and coached the football team from 1964-1988.
The ball began four years ago as a way to bring Catholics in west Georgia together for a formal event, and to include Bishop J. Kevin Boland of the Diocese of Savannah.
The ball is named for the late Msgr. Herman Deimel, who was the pastor of Holy Family Church and was the founding pastor of St. Anne Church. He was also instrumental in the founding of St. Benedict's Parish, St. Francis Hospital, Our Lady Of Lourdes Parish and Pacelli High School.
