Hardaway High student Kathleenaomi Wooten is a finalist in the Georgia Poetry Out Loud: National Recitation Contest.
The finals are March 15 at the Georgia Public Broadcasting studio, 260 14th Street NW in Atlanta, with the winner advancing to the national competition in Washington D.C. in April. Attendance for the Georgia competition is free.
There are 15 contestants.
The national program encourages high school students to learn about great poetry through memorization, performance and competition.
