Brookstone pitcher Neal Amos allowed just one hit and Jake Howard keyed an 11-hit Cougar attack as the No. 2-ranked Class A team defeated Shaw 18-0 in high school baseball in a game called after three innings.
Amos allowed only Justin Morrison's third inning single to left as Brookstone, now 7-1, gets ready for Friday's Region 2-A-B showdown against No. 1-ranked Pacelli.
Howard went 2-for-3 with 3 RBI in the first inning as the Cougars broke the game open with 11 runs in the first and seven more in the second. The game was called after a scoreless third inning due to the mercy rule.
