Grammy Award-winning vocalist and bluegrass star Rhonda Vincent & the Rage will perform in the Salute to the South Festival at noon and 3 p.m. May 10. The festival will be at Fort Benning's Uchee Creek Activity Center. It's free.
Vincent performs regularly at the Grand Ole Opry and makes frequent appearances on "Prairie Home Companion" on National Public Radio. She is often on Great American Country and Country Music Television cable channels, as well as other television and radio shows.
Vincent is currently touring on the Martha White Bluegrass Express, a touring coach made famous by Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs more than 50 years ago.
Rhonda Vincent & the Rage's latest CD is "Good Things Going," which made its debut at No. 1 on the Billboard charts and stayed there for seven weeks. The next CD will be released in June.
To get to the Uchee Creek Activity Center without having to go through Fort Benning, go across the Oglethorpe Bridge from Georgia into Alabama. You'll be on U.S. 280/431. Take the exit for Ala. 165 and go south. Turn left to 101st Airborne Division Road, and follow the signs to Uchee Creek.
