In a change of command ceremony to be held Thursday on Fort Benning, Lt. Col. Frank W. Brewster will take the reigns of the 2nd Battalion, 47th Infantry Regiment, Infantry Training Brigade from Lt. Col. Marc Axelberg.
The ceremony will be held at 7:45 a.m. Pomeroy Field.
Brewster was commissioned as an Army second lieutenant following his graduation from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1991.
He has deployed to Somalia in support of Operation Restore Hope and operation Iraqi Freedom. He has also participated in Hurricane Andrew relief operations.

Brewster's awards and decorations include the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, two Combat Infantryman Badges, Expert Infantryman Badge, senior parachutist and air assault badges.
Axelberg has been reassigned to Fort Riley, Kan., and will deploy from Fort Riley to Kuwait in August.
The 2nd Battalion, 47th Infantry Regiment is one of three training battalions that make up the 192nd Infantry Brigade. These battalions conduct nine-week cycles of basic training, providing instruction in basic soldier skills.
