Methinks we have a holiday: Today, Talk Like Shakespeare Day honors Shakespeare's 445th birthday.
Mayor Richard Daley of Chicago made an official proclamation on honoring the event. Its official Web site, powered by Chicago Shakespeare Theater, gives advice on how to add some Shakespearean inspiration to your conversations. A sampling:
*Say "thou" instead of "you" and "thee" instead of "y'all."
*Call all your friends "cousin."
*Add "eth" to end of all verbs.
*Give your opinions extra weight by prefacing them with "methinks," "mayhaps, "in sooth" and "wherefore."
The Web site also gives directions on how to Twitter and write like Shakespeare.
