A Columbus woman was robbed at gunpoint early Friday.
The 23-year-old woman told police she was parked and sitting in her car on the 1900 block of 12th Street around 3 a.m. She was waiting for friends to arrive, said police Lt. Lynn Joiner.
That’s when a full-sized black van with the word “Upholstery” written on the side pulled up next to her. A masked man jumped out the car, pulled a pistol on her and demanded money, Joiner said.
The gunman got away with an undisclosed amount of money. The woman was not injured.
Never miss a local story.
Joiner said the van could be connected to an earlier report of van theft at a local upholstery business.
The suspect is described as black between the ages of 17 and 23. He stands 5 feet, 6 inches tall and was wearing all black with a black ski mask.
This case is under investigation.
