The Pine Mountain Trail Association and Franklin Delano Roosevelt State Park celebrate National Trails Day on June 6 at 10 a.m.
Hike on the PMT in FDR State Park. Meet at the Mollyhugger Hill parking lot trailhead 3.6 miles east of FDR Park Office on Ga. 190, the hike will cover 5 moderate miles toward Fox Den Cove parking lot.
It's free and hikers of all ages are welcome. Before the hike, the association will give free fruit, water and some free PMT T-shirts and hats to participants. Make sure to bring lunch for the hike and plenty of water.
You do NOT have be a PMTA member to come on the hike.

At 2 p.m., FDR naturalist ranger Sam McDuffie will teach a short backpacking introduction class at the open air shelter below the dam near Lake Delano.
McDuffie will lead a night hike on the Mountain Creek Nature Trail. The hike will start from Group shelter below the dam near Lake Delano at 8 p.m.
