There will be a walk-in immunization clinic on July 13 at the Russell County Health Department but parents don't have to wait that long.
By calling 334-297-0252 parents can make an appointment on Mondays and Wednesdays to have their child immunized.
The July 13 clinic will be from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
All school systems in Alabama are required to have on file for each student an Alabama Certificate of Immunization (also known as the blue card) or exemption.
Additionally documentation of a second dose of measles-containing vaccine for all children, kindergarten through 12th grade is required.
A booster dose of tetanus/diptheria vaccine must be given 10 years after the pre-school booster. Students in grades K-5 must also have proof of the chicken pox vaccine.
