During the 1940s, a huge number of women filled factory jobs left vacant by men who were fighting during World War II.
"Rosie the Riveter," as these women were collectively called, will come alive noon-3 p.m. June 6 during the annual D-Day Observance at Roosevelt's Little White House State Historic Site, 401 Little White House Road, in Warm Springs, Ga.
Actress and teacher Carol Cain plays a number of these women in the program.
Kelly's Zeroes, a living history reenactment group will display equipment used by soldiers during World War II. Harold Latham of Barnesville, Ga., who was in the Normandy invasion, will talk to visitors. He will also have some of his memorabilia on display.
Tickets are $4-$7.
