If you're among the Muscogee high school graduates who can't wait 'til the ceremony's over so you can get out on your own, then good for you, because that's exactly what the school district wants you to do.
Muscogee County School District Director of Communications Valerie Fuller sent out a reminder Friday that graduates and guests must leave the Columbus Civic Center as soon as each ceremony ends.
Muscogee so tightly schedules two series of consecutive ceremonies on Friday and Saturday that any delay in one may throw off the whole set. So anyone who wants to pause for picture-taking, gift-giving or group-hugging shouild do it in the parking lot.
Reads Fuller's message: "We want to remind all graduates, family and friends to exit the Civic Center (main floor and corridors) to the parking lot for congratulations, gift distribution and celebration immediately following each graduation ceremony in order to quickly proceed to the next graduation ceremony Friday-Saturday, and remind attendees that the forecast calls for rain."
