The Mildred Terry library will hold a silent auction for old library furniture from noon to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27 at the library on Veterans Parkway.
The library's staff is in the process of moving books and furniture to the new library next door; some items at the old library, such as oak bookshelves, metal shelving units and chairs be auctioned off and replaced when the new library opens in June.
Payments for the auction items must be made on the day of the sale. Cash or checks made out to Chattahoochee Valley Libraries will be accepted. A seven percent sales tax will be applied to all purchases. Tax exempt organizations must present their tax exempt form at the time of payment or they will be charged the sales tax.
Items must be picked up and removed by the buyer by 6 p.m. on Friday, May 29.
Never miss a local story.
