On June 11 Fort Benning's Infantry Center Band will present a free concert titled, “Salute to the Heroes."
The selection of patriot music will be played beginning at 5 p.m. on the lawn at Riverside, the commanding general's home.
This event is open to the public, however, pets are prohibited. Concert-goers are encouraged to bring picnic baskets, blankets and lawn chairs.
The concert will be canceled in the event of inclement weather.
Access to the installation is controlled through vehicle checkpoints. Drivers of vehicles without military stickers must stop at the visitor’s center on I-185 or Benning Boulevard and present a valid driver’s license and proof of registration to get a temporary access pass.
Drivers and adult passengers should be prepared to present identification at the gates. Children 15 and younger are exempt from having to show I.D.
