After 27 years, Tokyo Japanese Restaurant owners Masafusa and Kazue Yonekawa closed its doors Tuesday night.
Even though the only Japanese-owned Japanese restaurant in town had a loyal following, Masafusa Yonekawa, affectionately known as Papa-san, decided to close the restaurant for health reasons. He's been cooking for the past year with a bad shoulder, while Kazue (or Mama-san) Yonekawa, has recently been hospitalized with pneumonia.
Word went out this afternoon that the restaurant was closing and many regulars came in for the last time.
It is still unclear what the couple with do in their retirement.
