Jonathan Platero and Asuka Kondoh were eliminated from "So You Think You Can Dance" Thursday night.
It wasn't a huge surprise to viewers, since both dancers have struggled since the competition's early stages. On Wednesday's performance show, Jonathan and his partner Karla danced a hip-hop routine that judge Nigel Lythgoe compared to a Sunday school picnic.
Asuka and her partner Vitolio danced a jazz routine that seemed to lack emotion. Asuka struggled during rehearsals, even crying in front of the camera at one point.
Jonathan and Karla, as well as Asuka and Vitolio, were in the bottom three Thursday. The final couple up for elimination: Caitlin and Jason, who performed a shaky pasodoble Wednesday.
Based on dancers' solos, judges decided Asuka and Jonathan would go home.
Host Cat Deeley also announced Fox will rebroadcast the Michael Jackson week episode from the last season of "American Idol." It features the Top 13 and will air 8 p.m. Monday. It's the first rebroadcast in the eight-season history of "Idol."
