All of the soldiers of the 63rd Engineer Company are back home after serving 15 months in Iraq.
Shortly before midnight on July 6, families, friends and well-wishers cheered the remaining 66 returning troops as they marched into Fort Benning's Freedom Hall, thereby ending the unit's long deployment. More than 90 soldiers from the engineer company returned home last week. This was the unit’s third deployment.
During their tour in Iraq, the 63rd supported combat missions, provided base construction for coalition forces and gave construction assistance to the Iraqi Army.
