There will soon be an opening on the Auburn University Board of Trustees and nominations are being sought.
Alabama Gov. Bob Riley is encouraging interested individuals who meet the residency requirements to apply.
The open position is for a trustee representing District 6 which includes Bibb, Chilton, Greene, Hale, Perry, Shelby, Sumter and Tuscaloosa Counties. An applicant must be a resident of one of those counties and less than 70 years of age when appointed to the board.
The position is currently occupied by Paul Spina of Pelham, an Auburn trustee since 1995.
Candidates who wish to be considered should submit a letter of interest and relevant background information by August 10 to the Auburn University Trustee Selection Committee, Attention Grant Davis, 105 Samford Hall, Auburn, AL 36849.
