A 71-year-old Decatur, Ga., man was shot four times Thursday night during a robbery attempt on Manchester Expressway.
The shooting took place at 2107 Manchester Expressway. The victim, who survived the attack then drove himself to St. Francis Hospital, told police two black men -- both in their 20s and both standing between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-9 inches tall -- attempted to rob him at gunpoint. One of the suspects wore a white t-shirt and the other a black t-shirt, a police report said.
The victim said he at first managed to wrestle the gun away from the suspects, but the duo snatched the weapon back and shot him.
Police said the victim suffered gunshot wounds to his left upper arm, right forearm and abdomen as well as a graze wound to his chest.
He is listed in stable condition at the hospital.
Police are investigating.
