The Muscogee County School Board will have a called meeting next week to discuss the budget, according to the district's director of communications Valerie Fuller.
The 33,000-student school system is looking at more ways to cut the budget, after Gov. Sonny Perdue asked districts across the state to consider furloughing employees for three days before the end of the year to reduce state spending.
The Muscogee County School District administration has not decided if it will furlough employees yet. A recommendation must come from the superintendent and the board must vote on it, Fuller said.
A date and time for next week's meeting has not been decided.
